The recently held 30th annual North American Car, Truck and Utility Vehicle of the Year (NACTOY) Awards™, which honored innovation, design, safety, performance, technology, user experience, driver satisfaction, and overall value, has named the New Honda Civic Hybrid as the top car in North America.
The selection process for the NACTOY Awards begins with a comprehensive “long list” of contenders, rigorously tested and evaluated by a panel of 50 professional automotive journalists from both the United States and Canada. These experts contribute to various independent print, online, TV, and radio platforms, ensuring a diverse and thorough assessment of each vehicle.
The winners were unveiled during a press conference that kicked off media day at the Detroit Auto Show last January 10, 2025. The Honda Civic Hybrid emerged as the standout choice for the coveted title, receiving a total of 205 votes. This marks the fourth time the iconic Civic nameplate has been honored with this award, highlighting its enduring legacy in the automotive industry. Previous wins occurred in 2006, 2016, and 2022.
John Voelcker, a juror and Contributing Editor for Car and Driver, Green Car Reports, and Inside EVs, praised the Civic Hybrid, stating, “The Honda Civic has won awards for half a century now, and the Civic Hybrid brings Honda’s superb and fuel-efficient hybrid system into one of the market’s best compact sedans. Fun, fuel-efficient, and more elegant than its predecessors, it’s a hands-down winner.”
The new Honda Civic is available in the Philippines in three variants: the V Turbo CVT, RS Turbo CVT, and RS e:HEV E-CVT, with retail prices of PHP 1,600,000, PHP 1,790,000, and PHP 1,990,000, respectively. For customers interested in the Civic Hybrid, the Honda e:HEV Financing program offers lower interest rates for down payments ranging from 15% to 20% over terms of 36 to 60 months, subject to bank approval.
