The City of Taguig has launched “Ready, Test, Go,” a door-to-door HIV counseling and testing service aimed at expanding awareness and curbing infection rates.
The program runs Monday to Saturday, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., offering free, confidential, and accessible services for residents who cannot visit clinics.
HIV counselors from the Taguig Social Hygiene Clinic are deployed across barangays, bringing with them testing kits and educational materials. Residents can call district hotlines or visit their local health centers for assistance. Mayor Lani Cayetano said the program ensures access to care and reduces stigma, especially among young people.
With 57 new infections reported daily in early 2025, the Department of Health has been directed by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to enhance HIV services nationwide. The Philippine National AIDS Council has also recommended declaring a national public health emergency to address the alarming surge.
